The singer is the child of father Vincenzo Barba, and mother Valerie Barba. At the age of six, her family relocated into Point Pleasant New Jersey. In terms of her education, she finished her education at Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey. After graduating from Catholic University with a Bachelor's in Architecture, she continued her studies at the school. At the age of four when she started playing the violin, earning her the nickname Violin girl. It was because of her talents that she was referred to by the name Violin Girl. She was a violin teacher to children in the neighbourhood. The show's sixth season, American Idol, she sang Free in the year 1976, when she was nineteen. The show was cut short when she was ranked 16th. She has performed many songs, such as 2009's "The Songs of Christmas" and the 2010's Out for Blood.
